In 1966. Only 276 Leica M2 cameras were produced which were predisposed for the electric motor drive made by Leitz of New York. These cameras with serial numbers from 1,163,771 to 1,164,047, has the engraving M2-M on the top plate, upon request, some cameras of this series were modified but without any indication.
