For sale is a Leica Standard (E) black paint camera from 1938, part of the 295301-295400 serial batch. This example features chrome knobs, an uncommon variation. The camera is in Ex++ condition, with signs of age-appropriate wear.
Condition Details:
- Camera Body: Black paint finish with light brassing, particularly on the base plate. The leather on the right side near the lens flange has shifted slightly (see photos).
- Lens: Leica 50mm f/3.5 Elmar, front of the lens has a “brownish brass-like” patina rather than chrome. Optics are in good condition.
- Functionality: All dials, knobs, and controls operate smoothly. Shutter functioning properly.
- Accessories: Includes original Leica black front cap.
