When photographing bright subjects at night,fast lenses tend to project the effects of coma light aberrations. The optical design of the “NOCT” lens for nocturnal use incorporattes an Aspherical surface in the front segment which even at full aperture and at 20″ (50cm) minimum focusing distance,eliminates to great extent stray and reflected light problems. The lens is similar in design to the 55mm f1,2, but has a rubber covered focus collar and AI specifications,including the second aperture scale for aperture visibilty in the finder. It is a relatively expensive special lens and was first presented at the 1976 Photokina. serial numbers begin with 172011.
